Inflation rates for Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and 27 EU countries were presented in a Eurostat news release on 16 March 2011.
Figures for Iceland show a considerable decrease in annual inflation, from 10.7% in February 2010 to 2.3% in February 2011. In Iceland the monthly rate in February 2011 was 1.4%. In Norway and Switzerland annual inflation decreased from 3.1% and 0.9% respectively in February 2010 to 1.1% and 0.5% in February 2011.
EU27 annual inflation was 2.8% in February 2011, unchanged since January. A year earlier the rate was 1.5%.
In February 2011, the lowest annual rates were observed in Ireland (0.9%), Sweden (1.2%) and France (1.8%), and the highest in Romania (7.6%), Estonia (5.5%) and Bulgaria (4.6%). Compared with January 2011, annual inflation rose in 15 EU Member States, remained stable in three and fell in eight.
