The EFTA-Ukraine negotiations were launched in April 2009. During the fourth round, further headway was made in all areas covered. These included trade in industrial and agricultural products, fish, rules of origin, trade in services, investment, intellectual property rights, government procurement and legal and institutional provisions.
The parties agreed to meet again at the end of April 2010, with the aim of concluding the negotiations during the first half of the year.
The negotiating teams were led by Ambassador Kristinn F. Árnason from Iceland, on the EFTA side, and Deputy Minister of Economy Valeriy Pyatnytskiy, for Ukraine.
