Delegations assessed the coverage and functioning of the Agreement and discussed ways to further strengthen the bilateral framework. The Joint Committee adopted four decisions, including on an extension of the rules on Pan-Euro-Mediterranean cumulation for originating products to trade flows between the partners, and on a further liberalization of market access for certain products.
The meeting was chaired by Ms Ivana Sučić, Director, Trade Policy and International Relations Directorate, for Croatia, while Ambassador Norbert Frick from Liechtenstein headed the EFTA delegation.
Bilateral EFTA-Croatia merchandise trade amounted to approximately 510 million USD in 2008, a 15% increase over the previous year. EFTA’s main exports to Croatia were pharmaceutical products and machinery, while mechanical appliances and wood constituted the leading imports.
