Standing Committee and Joint Committee meetings 7-8 June 2007

The EFTA Standing Committee met on 7 June. It prepared for the EEA Joint Committee the following day, discussed participation in programmes, public access to documents and received a briefing by the Director of the Financial Mechanism Office on the FMO Annual Report 2006.
The EEA Joint Committee met on 8 June, at which it adopted 17 Decisions incorporating 26 legal acts. The Committee welcomed the progress made recently on participation in EU programmes. Topics for discussion included the European Food Safety Authority, the Greenhouse Gas Emission Trading Scheme and Free movement of persons as well as the next steps regarding the EEA Enlargement Agreement.
